Kaos Ultimate Frisbee Club Perth

Kaos Ultimate are pleased to announce the opening of expressions of interest for all women who would like to play with us at World Clubs and the 2018 nationals season.

We will be offering an extensive training program for players of all levels including specialised fitness, strength and conditioning designed just for our ultimate players and skills development at all levels. We would love to hear from everyone who is interested to improve their fitness and ultimate as we will be offering squad training and events outside of the WUCC selection.

From the EOIs received a squad will be invited to participate in our extended training program beginning on the 5th of September. These trainings will be a mixture of skills development and fitness building delivered by our team of experienced coaches. This is an excellent opportunity to work on your individual goals, regardless of your intention to play WUCC or Nationals with Kaos. Squad training is compulsory for any players intending to play WUCC and Nationals (Division 1 and 2).

Tuesdays (Fitness) 6.30 – 8.00 College Park Nedlands

Thursdays (Skills/Games) 6.30 – 8.39 College Park Nedlands

Oct 8th – Dec 10th

Sundays (Skills/Games) 9.00 – 11.00 Yokine Reserve

Attendance at trainings will be tracked by our coaches. Advance notification of absences would be greatly appreciated as it helps in session planning.

Tuesdays: Cleats or joggers (session can be completed in either), towel/sarong, watch with timer and plenty of water.

Thursdays and Sundays: White and dark (blue or black) strip, cleats, water.

Selection events for both the WUCC team and Division 2 Nationals team will be held on the 14th, 16th and 19th of November. The selected WUCC team will also be the Kaos division 1 team for nationals in 2018.
Detailed selection criteria will be released closer to the dates.

The WUCC season encompasses the usual AUC season, it will run from 5th September until WUCC in July 2018. Training will be held weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. A preliminary season schedule is as follows:

– Squad Training 5th September to 14th November

– Selection events 14th, 16th and 19th November

– Teams announced 24th November

– Regular AUC training 26th November – end April

– Western regionals in February

– Kaos invitational tournament in March

– AUC division 1 and 2 tournaments in April (TBA and Gold Coast)

– WUCC team training April to July

– WUCC pre-tour ~9th to 13th July

– WUCC 14th to 21st July

Rough cost breakdown of the entire season:

– EOI fee: $175 for players trying out for WUCC, $75 for players not trying out for WUCC.     (players unsuccessful in selections for WUCC will be refunded $100).

– Nationals season: $600, plus flights

– WUCC extended training, pre-tour and tournament: $1600, plus flights

Total: $2375, plus flights

Exact costs of each item my change. All costs have the potential to be reduced through fundraising.

There is a fee of $75 to join the training squad from September – December. To be considered for WUCC selection we require an additional $100 deposit (refundable if your selection is not successful). Please make your payment to the club at the time of submitting your EOI.
