Kaos success on the National stage

Kaos are celebrating one of their most successful Nationals campaigns to date after the Division 2 team won a Silver Medal, and the Division 1 team placed 5th in Australia.

Kaos Division 2 competed in Wollongong from 13th – 15th April. walking away with an incredible 6 Wins, 1 Loss – and a Silver Medal! The team faced some extremely tough conditions but were in incredible form. Check out our Videos Page to watch some of their remarkable games where they displayed their grit and determination. This united the team and saw them unbeaten right until their Grand Final game against Manly which had it’s own unique set challenges- facing cyclonic wind gusts above 90km per hour! Despite losing the Final game, the Kaos Div 2 girls were proud to be the only Final game that played in those conditions and even more proud to walk away with the Silver Medal.

Kaos Division 1 competed in the Gold Coast from 26-29th April, taking the win in 5 of their 7 games, and finishing in 5th place. Kaos were in fantastic form against the Division 1 teams, where the competition is building stronger and stronger every year. Athleticism has become the bottom line expectation across the country, rather than an advantage to win games. Combine this with heightened skills, better strategies and 2018 showcased some of the best Women’s Ultimate in Australia’s history. Kaos proudly displayed their own skills as well as their ability to overcome mental challenges – something they rarely get to exercise due to minimal warm-up tournaments because of the isolation in Western Australia.

The tournament was a valuable learning experience for the team as they make their final preparations for the World Ultimate Club Championships in Cincinnati Ohio in July. If you can afford to help the team as they Crowd Fund to help cover some of the huge costs associated with competing internationally, you can make a tax deductible donation here: https://asf.org.au/projects/kaos-ultimate-club/
